Establishment
Asian Shipping Corporation (ASC) was founded in July 1965 in Manila, Philippines. The company began with two Log Carriers and a Landing Craft Medium (LCM) to transport logs across Asia.Domestic Tramping Begins
ASC focused on the domestic tramping business and acquired 250DWT ex-US Navy LCTs, followed by several other vessels.New Builds
The towing and barging business began with single-screw tugs and 600DWT deck barges. In response to increasing cargo capacity requirements, ASC acquired larger versions of the LCTs. In 1982, the company built its first 2,000DWT LCT.Major Addition
ASC reached a milestone with the purchase of an 8,000DWT barge, the largest of its kind registered in the Philippines. During this decade, ASC expanded its fleet with 15 new vessels, including 5,000DWT barges from a local shipyard and multiple 1,000HP twin-screw tugs built by its sister company.Scaling up

ASC is a major player in the field of coal transport. Power plants all over the Philippines rely on ASC to transport a steady supply of coal, in order that energy demands of businesses and communities are met, without interruption.
ASC's LCTs were used in the first ever windmill project in the Philippines, shipping windmill components from Manila and Sual, Pangasinan, to Bangui, Ilocos Norte. Many other windmill projects have since followed, and until now, ASC maintains a solid presence in power generation activities up north.
Vintage bombs and explosives, or explosive remnants of war (ERWs) that had been stockpiled on Caballo Island near Corregidor during World War II, were shipped to Subic Bay, under Philippine and US military escort, and safely disposed of at Crow Valley, Tarlac.
The Philippine International Pyromusical Competition, annually held at the Seaside Boulevard of the Mall of Asia, is a fireworks display competition between several countries. ASC barges are used as launhing platforms by the competing countries.
